  1. Hole size for ball on top

    I would like to change the ball on top what is the size of the hole

    1. The top ball is welded on. It can't be moved. Most trailers will fit on the lower ball hitch.The top ball is for goose neck trailers.

    2. The 2-5/16" ball included with this adapter is not removable. It is welded to the frame of the 3-pt. hitch.

    1. square box tube with fairly heavy gussets in the corners.

    1. This is a cat 1 product and most likely will not fit cat 2.

    2. This receiver adapter is designed to be used with category 1 tractors only. At this time Northern Tool does not offer a receiver adapter that is designed for a category 2 tractor.

  4. Is this approved for highway use? I want to go to the landfill with my 10,000 lb.GVW dump trailer, load wood chips with my tractor, and haul it home.

    1. This 3-point hitch is designed for use on a tractor with a Category 1 hitch and would be limited to the max speed of the tractor. It is also rated for 8,000 pound tongue weight and has a 10,000 pulling capacity.

  5. What is distance between pins?

    What is the distance to the center of the bottom pins? What is the distance between the bottom pins and top pin?

    1. When measured from the bottom outside edges it will measure 1 5/8" to the center pin of the corresponding side. It will measure 16 1/16" to the center between the two bottom pins. A vertical line from the top pin to the bottom pin it will measure 15" center pin to center pin and 14" between the pins.

  7. what size pins do i need to purchase with the adapter , both lower and upper ?

    1. The holes for the lower pins have a 7/8" diameter and are 3-1/4" outside to outside. The hole for the upper pin has a 3/4" diameter and is 3-1/4" outside to outside. We offer compatible 7/8" diameter pin, item 27295.
