The Briggs Stratton® Vanguard 305cc commercial power OHV engine gives you cooler operation and longer valve life. Dura-Bore cast iron cylinder sleeve withstands wear and abuse while providing improved oil control. The TransportGuard simultaneous fuel and ignition switch protects oil and fuel dilution during transport. Engine is ideal for use with tillers, aerators, pressure washers and compaction plates.

  1. Is the crankshaft tapped? I am seeing some engines that are tapped 3/8 x 24 and some 7/16 x 20.

    1. The engine would have a 3/8-24 tapped end with a 1/4" keyway.

  2. What is the horizontal distance from the center of the mounting bolt to the end of the shaft

    1. The height from the mounting base to the end of the shaft is 4.17" high. The distance from the center of the mounting hole to the crank seal is 2.28" and the distance from the crank seal to the end of the shaft is 2 49/64".

  3. Is this engine made in Japan?

    I know some Vanguards are made in Japan. I want a Japanese engine. Thanks.
