    1. Yes and that is what I am using now with this valve

  2. It is difficult to see the ports names.

    From the picture, you can make out in and out port names, but not the cylinder port names. What port is next to the handle on top of the valve? What port is away from the handle on top of the valve. Please add a spec sheet or picture that shows this information.

    2. The two ports on the top are your cylinder ports, the two on the side are your inlet and outlet ports. You can find a spec sheet at www.brand-hyd.com and look at the product catalog displaying the LS 4 way directional valve.

  3. With this valve to actuate the hydraulic cylinder I would push the handle towards the valve?

    1. The handle would be pushed forward, towards the cylinder to actuate the cylinder.

  4. How does the lock splitter work?

    1. The LS valve uses a hydraulic kick-out (pressure‑release detent) to automatically release the control lever when the splitting cylinder reaches the end of its stroke and system pressure rises. That prevents the ram from staying latched against the stop and returns the spool to neutral (or spring center) once the kick‑out pressure is reached.

    1. The mounting base dimensions are 3.94" L x 1.12" W.

  7. Can the detent feature be removed so it functions as a basic spring to center from both positions?

    1. The detent feature could be removed, you would need to contact the manufacturer for kit to replace the detent to the spring to center positions. The model PAO7755P4LRS would be this same valve without the detent. At this time, we do not carry that valve.

  8. How can I adjust the detent? My reverse detent no longer holds on my wood splitter.

    1. There is a jam nut on the opposite end of the handle, you would loosen that out to increase the pressure and screw it in to decrease the pressure.

  9. Is this valve factory set so we have to hold the handle down to split. Then push it the opposite way,and stay there by itself until the ram retracts all the way?

    1. Yes, that is correct. On this Hydraulic Log Splitter Valve you will need to hold the valve to split and to retract the cylinder in the detented position.

  10. If the valve is set to detent in both directions (I know it is not recommended for log splitters) will it kick out in both directions?

    1. The valve will kick out in both directions if set to detent in both directions but as you state, doing this is not recommended for log splitter applications.
