  1. can this flow control be operated by a wireless remote control

    1. Yes, the Brand Hydraulics PEFC12‑30‑12 (aka the EFC12-30-12) can be controlled electronically, which means it could be operated via a wireless remote.

  2. does it have a knob to control the flow?

    1. To manually control the flow rate you would adjust it by removing the 7/16" acorn nut, loosening the 7/16" jam nut and turning the override screw with a flat head screwdriver. It can also be adjusted proportionally with a solenoid connected to the EC series controls. As the current to the solenoid increases, the variable orifice moves proportionally.

  3. Can I set it to a specific exact flow rate of say 8 gpm?

    1. It can be set to a specific flow rate. It has a dial on it that you can turn and will need to test it until the flow rate is set at what you want. It does not have dial with numbers on it to specifically set it to.

  4. If flow was reversed threw this flow control valve will it freely run to EX port ? This is using it prior to a hydraulic motor for regulated speed but say I reverse motor rotation and flow what will this valve do in that operation?

    1. This would not allow a free-flow in the described application. In default, the valve will lock up completely. In non-default, the valve may reverse depending how it is connected to the system, but it would not free-flow. For the application described, the manufacturer recommends model PEFCC12-30-12. In this set up, that valve would allow the flow to go back to the inlet. At this time, we do not offer the alternate model, but it can be obtained through the manufacturer.

  5. Where does the the flow go when solenoid is not powered

    Does the flow go out the work port when no power to the solenoid or out the EF port? Also does more current on solenoid mean more flow or less flow out work port?

    1. The flow will go to the EX port when there is no power. You will get more flow when the current is increased. It operates at 0-1 amp, at 1 amp you are at full power.

  6. Does this valve include the 1500psi pressure relief option?

    Based upon the part no. I would say no.

  7. is the EF port a work port or return to tank port only and why

    1. The Excess Flow port can provide flow to an auxiliary operational port if employed. If not, the flow can be directed to the tank.

  8. what is needed to adjust the twm signal?

    1. The Brand Hydraulics Electronically Adjustable Flow Control Valve would need a controller to adjust the twm signal. There is a dash mount, and a control box.

  9. how do you change the speed or flow

    how do you change the speed

    1. In normal operation you adjust the twm signal which will vary the current which will adjust the speed. There is a manual override where you turn the screw clockwise to increase the flow.
