Product Summary

Better Built sturdy 14-gauge steel tank is designed for safe transport of nonflammable fuels. Tank features a lockable cap, reinforced bungs, mounting brackets, lifting eyes, durable powder-coat finish and more. Tank is 100% pressure and submersion tested. Built-in baffles add strength while preventing the contents from shifting too quickly. Includes GPI electric pump with 12V DC motor and rotary gear design that delivers up to 8 GPM flow rates. Pump is made of lightweight, durable cast aluminum and can be used with diesel fuel and kerosene. Not to be connected to existing fuel system. Tank is not intended for use with gasoline or other flammable fuels.

  2. What size bolts are to be used to mount this tank?

    1. The size of the mounting bolts will be 1/2"-13 x 4.5" long.

  3. Does this have the option of locking both the fill cap and the nozzle?  Is there a back up hand crank should the electric pump fail ?

    1. This model will have a lockable gas cap and coupler. The fuel nozzle and hose can be locked. There is not a manual hand crank for back up on the pump.

  4. What is the measurements of the tank not the mounting bracket

    1. The measurements of the tank only are 45-1/4" L x 11" W x 17" H. The mounting brackets are 1-1/2" making the total width 48-1/4".

  5. This tank does not include inline filter, what filter does Northern tool have that will fit, or recommend.

    1. A fuel pump filter is not available for the pump included with this transfer tank.

  6. Two questions: When mounted in the bed of a pickup against the back of a cab, can the truck stil be taken through a car wash? Is there a way to lock the nozzle to the pump (I.e. padlock)? Thanks

    1. It would not be recommended to run the unit through a car wash. This model has a lockable cap and coupler.

  7. Can the pump be mounted onto the side instead of the top? I would like to put it below my bed cover on my truck.

    1. The pump is designed to connect to the bung on top of the tank. This tank does not have a port on the side.

  8. Does tank come with a drain plug on bottom? In order to get rid of bad fuel

    1. This transfer tank does not have a drain plug on the bottom.

  9. I want to use this tank whenever I’m towing my 5th wheel RV. When not using the RV, ideally I’d like to remove the tank and store it in my garage. How practical is it to remove the tank when I’m not using it?

    1. This fuel transfer tank is designed to be permanently bolted into the bed of the truck. It is not intended for repeated installation and removal. Our item #38118 and #89078 would be examples of portable transfer tank systems that can be used.
