    1. The gate does not have a single fixed minimum pole height. As the gate is 35 to 36 inches tall, the height of the pole you need depends entirely on how deep you must bury it into the ground to ensure your post can support the weight of the gate.

  2. Can i use a 4x4 or 4x6 wooden post to mount the gate?

    1. The gate can be mounted to a 4x4 or a 4x6 wooden post, but is recommended to be mounted to a 6x6 for better support. Over time, mounted to a 4x4 may sag or pull away under the weight of the gate. Additional bracing may be required.

    1. The gate is unable to be used with a padlock only. It will require a chain lock system.

    1. The Behlen gates can be mounted on opposing hinge posts and secured together at the center by running a padlock or chain through the factory eyelets on each expansion pole.

    1. The landowner gate can be mounted to a 2.5" or 4" metal post. It would require separate hardware for mounting to metal. It would only come with bolts for wood.
