  1. Tubular Install ONLY or bolt on to wood gate?

    Has anyone installed this wheel on a heavy wood gate where there are no tubes?

    1. Yes, I have installed mine on a wooden gate.. You must provide your own hardware. It works fine.

    2. The gate wheel is designed to be used on a tubular or square framed gate. It is recommended that you use the mounting bracket and U bolts included with the wheel. Adjustments and positioning changes may be needed.

  2. Can the spring be locked in place or removed so the assembly can be used without the suspension feature?

    1. NO. That would be a nice feature. I installed it on an aluminum gate and it was quite the task keeping it in place while being installed. I had to compress the spring while installing.

    2. The mfg. does not recommend this be altered. The spring does not have a lock feature. If you mount the wheel higher on the gate, it will neutralize the spring travel.

  3. Can you stop the wheels from swiveling ?

    Can they be locked on one position ?

    1. We do not have a problem and our gate is 350# so we did not even worry about this.

    2. This item does not come with a locking system for the wheels. You would need to customize the unit in order to do so which may potentially void the warranty on the item.

  4. what size are the bearings on this wheel? I have had several years and works great but bearing failed in wheel and want to replace bearings instead of buying whole new setup.

    1. The bearing is 1/2" wide. The ID of the bearing is 5/8". The OD of the bearing is 1 3/8".

  5. What size is the axle bolt?

    1. This 4 Seasons Gate Wheel uses the m12 sized bolt which is just slightly under 1/2 inch (.4724 inches).

    1. The gate wheel would have flat free rubber wheels.

  7. I have a large double wooden door gate that has 5-6 foot     door sections.  Where do do your wheel devices attach to?

    1. The gate wheel would need to be attached to a single round or square tubed frame. It can be attached to a wooden or metal frame. It would be best to use the U-bolts included with the gate wheel.

  8. How tall is this from the top of the mount to the bottom of the wheel? I will be installing it on a heavy pasture gate. Thank you

    1. The overall height of the gate wheel is 23 inches.

  9. I have a wooden gate that opens on a slope. The wheel needs to adjust to the rising slope as it opens-probably about 1.5 inches in slope as the gate opens. Can your spring suspension compress as the wheel goes up the slope?

    1. The gate suspension will allow for up to 5.5" of travel.
