    1. A P100 particulate filter will not protect against organic smells as it does not filter vapors or gases.

  3. Where can I get the replacement filter cartridges for the mask from do they sell the exact replacements on the website?

  4. Does it filter welding fumes?

    1. This demolition respirator is not rated for filtering welding fumes. Northern does not currently carry a respirator rated for welding fume use.

  5. Can this product be used for Sand Blasting?

    1. This respirator is not the proper gear for media or sand blasting. Particles can hit the face and eyes so protection is needed such as would be provided by a traditional media or sand blasting hood. Northern carries several of these. See items below.

    1. This respirator does not come with a fit test adapter and Northern does not carry an adapter for a fit test.

  7. how often should you replace the filter cartridge

    1. There are two separate cartridges on this unit. The P100 cartridge should be replaced when it starts to become difficult to breath with it on. The other cartridge for used when breathing gas and vapors would need to be monitored for the exposure level in the room. You can then go to the manufacturers website to find the exposure level and determine if that cartridge needs to be replaced.

  8. Can this be used for painting as well as for dust?

    1. The 3M demolition respirator can not be used for painting purposes. The correct respirator would depend on the type of painting such as indoor homeowner or industrial painting.

  9. Will this be effective against metal plasma cutter dust?

    I'm servicing an air filtration system hooked up to a Komatsu plasma cutter and need EFFECTIVE breathing P.P.E. The dust collected in the filters is an ultra fine metal dust.
