  1. Can you add longer welding leads to this welder on 240v   If so how long?   What size generator will it run on?

    1. The maximum length of leads that you may use on the welder is 25 feet. The manufacturer recommends a generator with 10,000 continuous/running watts.

    2. The maximum length of leads that you may use on the welder is 25 feet. You will need to insure that the correct gauge of lead is used. The generator will need to be a minimum of 7000 watt continuous to run the welder.

    1. The manufacturer recommends a generator with 10,000 continuous/running watts.

    2. The welder would require a minimum of 13,000 surge watts and 10,500 running watts to run on a generator. See our Northstar generator, item #165603.

    1. Yes, it will run on direct current electrode positive (DCEP).

    2. This 160i DC Stick Welder will work with 6010 welding electrodes. At this time, Northern Tool does not offer 6010 welding electrodes.
