  1. What max size boat will fit trailer?

    I have a 10ft 3inch length by 5ft wide boat. Will this trailer hold my boat? I'm not concerned about the weight because it's only 145lbs.

    1. My dinghy is 8' 10" long and it has room to spare. Tongue bar was as far to the rear as possible so there's maybe 2 more feet of adjustment. Width should be a problem as the bunks hold the boat higher than the fenders.

    2. It should, I fit two 12 feet Kayaks on it . . .you might have to do a bit of modification but it's easy with some 2x4s

    3. A max boat size for this personal watercraft and boat trailer is not listed. This trailer kit has an adjustable winch support. With the support moved as close to the trailer coupler as possible, the distance to the end of the bunk boards is 9' 7". The width of the bunk boards is 40-1/4". This trailer's size is suitable to carry your boat.

    1. The bed size is 40.25" wide and the bunks can be adjusted to lay flat for accommodating two kayaks.

  3. Need to add grease to wheel hubs?

    I just completed assembly. Do I need to add grease to the grease fittings on the wheel hubs before use?

    1. my wheel sets arrived with plenty of grease in the bearings to go the first 30k miles - manual says grease via the fittings every 30k

  5. How high does the coupler sit off of the ground?

    Looking to see if my hitch ball is level for the coupler to sit on or if it will need a rise or a drop. Thank you :)

    1. It is level with frame. I put jack on the trailer. It is like anything else. I raise boat up in the air so rain water runs out drain hole. This is tiny trailer

  6. I'm considering attaching crossbars instead of the bunks. Are the bunks brackets lag screwed on, and are the easily removed?

    1. you would need to remove the carpet first, no lags are used

    2. This trailer requires assembly upon delivery. The bunks and bunk brackets are bolted on. Click on the link in the "Product Summary" section to view the owner's manual. The assembly instructions start on page 4 in the manual. Northern cannot recommend or advise on modifying this trailer in any way. Modifications will void the manufacturer's warranty.

  7. Can a coupler for a 2" ball be used instead of the supplied 1-7/8" coupler?

    1. A 2" coupler can be used such as our item #605663, however making modifications to this trailer would void the warranty.

    2. As long as you get a 2 inch channel coupler with 2 inch ball, it will work. I bought one from another store locally and put it on during initial assembly.

  8. Does this trailer include Manufacturers certificate of origin (MCO) for getting it titled?

    1. yes about a week after it will come in the mail

    2. The unit does include the Manufacturers certificate of origin, it is sent in the mail and takes approximately 2 weeks to receive.

  9. Is this just for a jet ski or can it also be used for a boat (for example 15-20 ft)?

    1. My opinion - Even if it could be done somehow, a 15 foot boat would be much too long to be practical for this trailer. Anything longer is completely out of the question.

    2. This personal watercraft and boat trailer kit has an adjustable winch support. With the support moved as close to the trailer coupler as possible, the distance to the end of the bunk boards is 9' 7". It can support smaller boats, but 15-20 foot lengths will be too long. Also, at least 60% of the trailer's load must be positioned in front of the trailer axle.
