    1. Thanks for the question, Wayne does not recommend our pumps to be used in any chemical application.
      Our pumps are only tested with clear tap water.

    1. This Wayne Submersible Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Sump Pump cannot be used in a water fall application as it is not designed for continuous use.

    1. The stainless steel/cast iron submersible sump pump is not offered in 230 volt.

  4. how is the discharge hose connected to the wayne 1hp pump

    1. The pump will have an outlet port on the other side of the pump for the 1 1/2" discharge. If setting this up as a sump pump, it is designed to be set up with a discharge pipe and must meet local codes for installation. Please refer to the product manual that is listed on our website.

  5. Will this pump handle small trash (minor sand, small sticks <1/8")?

    Will use in a rainwater collection sump, some roof dust (sand) and very small wind blown sticks do make their way into the sump.

    1. This Wayne submersible sump pump is designed to pump clear water only. It will not handle any solids.

    1. This Wayne sump pump can be cycled every 30 to 60 seconds or as much as needed to pump out the sump pit without damage.

  7. can this pump be used to pump water off of a pool cover? Can the float be de-activated?

    1. This pump is not designed to be used without the float switch. Northern does carry 2 pool cover pumps and utility pumps. Item #'s for pool cover pumps are 28736 and 496881.

    Also, what does "max. total head (ft.) mean?

    1. The Wayne Submersible Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Sump Pump is self priming. The Max total head is how far the pump will lift and push a liquid. Lift plus head equals max total head.
