This Wayne Automatic Pool Cover Pump uses automatic iSwitch technology to quickly remove water, up to 3,000 GPH, when present and turn off again when the water is pumped away. A 25ft. power cord permits safe operation on large pools. Check valve adapter prevents drainback and makes it easy to connect to garden hoses with included adapter.

  1. Can this pump be left in place during heavy rains, or is there a maximum run time?

    1. YES!!! We have done so for more than 8 years. Clearing tree debris is the only occasional care our pumps have needed.

    2. Mine's been in place and plugged in on top of the cover for the last two months with no problems. During heavy rains, it comes on when needed to keep the water off the cover; the water never accumulates past a certain (very low) level. I keep it in the lowest spot I can find on the cover and when it's done pumping the only water left is just a tiny little puddle around the pump - it gets 99.9% of the water off.

    3. This Wayne Automatic Pool Cover Pump can be left in place for heavy rains. It has a maximum run time of 8 hours if running continuously.

  2. Is this pump submersible?

    could I drop it into a hot tub with a garden hose attatched to drain the water down to 3/4 of an inch?

    1. Yes. - Family borrowed one of ours for just that purpose.

      The pump will run as long as it is plugged in and senses water. If you use the flow back stop (the bulging black piece screwed into the unit between unit & hose) to prevent extra water in the hose from flowing back into the tub when the pump stops.

  3. Pump Capacity

    How much will it pump with a garden hose and how much with a 1 1/4 hose?

    1. I have a standard garden hose hooked up to mine and although a little slow if the water is deeper, it's adequate for my purposes. Since I leave mine hooked up and plugged in on top of the cover, it easily keeps up with the rain accumulation. I never have water on the cover anymore.

    2. This pump will pump 3000 gallons per hour at 0' lift with a 1 1/4 hose. With a garden hose it will pump 1500 gallons per hour at 0' lift.

  4. Does this pump have freeze protection?

    1. Mine's withstood some 20 degree nights with no problems. Have not experienced anything colder than that though.

    2. The pumps does feature freeze protection, which will turn the pump off to prevent damage in the case of ice build-up. While we don't recommend you leave the pump out all winter long, this is a great feature that protects the pump in case you forget to bring it in on a cold night.

  5. Can this pump be used to pump water from a low spot in my yard out to the sewer?

    Water collects in one low spot in my yard after heavy rains and eventually gets in my cellar. I'd like to pump the water to the sewer before it gets into my cellar. Would this pump work for that?

    1. This pump could be used for this purpose. It starts up when water reaches 2 1/8 inches and shuts off when it gets down to 3/4 of an inch.
