No the sprayer is not that noisey, the 20 foot hose puts you far enough away that it isn't bothersome.

It's not recommend to angle the sprayer more than 45 degrees.

We do not recommend angling the sprayer more than 45 degrees or you may struggle spraying or with paint running back into the sprayer. Even with a 45 degree angle you can spray ceilings or down at a deck surface without much difficulty.

Most of the time "house paint" will be latex paint. The Control Spray Plus is not meant for use with latex paint. It is a thin-bodied materials sprayer for things like stains, sealers, varnish, other oil-based materials. Latex paint in general is too thick for this unit.

If you wish to use an HVLP sprayer with latex paint, we would suggest using the Control Spray Max or the PaintREADY units by Wagner.

how well does this sprayer work on ceilings

HVLP sprayers are high volume, low pressure for a finer finish and better control. You can use it for ceilings but it may take longer than an airless sprayer.

The Control Spray Plus is a High Volume Low Pressue (HVLP) sprayer. Which will give you a finer finish, better control, and less overspray. You can use it to paint a ceiling, but it would not be the sprayer I would recommend because it is going to take you longer than if you were using an airless sprayer and you may need to thin your paint.

Is this sprayer adequate to paint the exterior of a home?

Yes this item would work to spray the outside of a home as it sprays thin-bodied materials in patterns from 1/2in. to 12in. wide with more control than a brush, spray can or high pressure paint sprayer. However the attached item would work as well has it is an HVLP (high volume low-pressure) sprayer.

It could be used, but is not the sprayer I would recommend using one of our airless sprayers like our Power Painter Max. The Control Spray Plus is an HVLP sprayer and they are designed to give you a finer finish and produce less overspray.
