The Viair 400P 12 Volt Automatic Portable Tire Inflator Air Compressor features automatic shutoff function. Portable compressors with automatic shutoff are handy when moving from tire to tire, and when checking tire pressure in the middle of a tire fill. A typical portable compressor must be turned off between tire fills, and anytime you want to check tire pressure. Automatic portables will save you time and effort to get tires inflated quickly. This 33% duty cycle unit is capable of pressures up to 150 PSI and can be operated for up to 40 minutes at a time before needing to be rested (at up to 40 PSI). The 400P-Automatic comes with a close-ended gas station-style air gun for added convenience.

  1. Does the power cord have an inline SAE connector so other power connections, such as Viair 7-way connecter, can be subsituted for the clips? This is standard for current Viair, but your photo does not show it.

    1. This tire inflator does not have the inline SAE connector. The item model 40145, item #6286302 would have the inline SAE connector.

    1. The pressure gauge reads up to a maximum pressure of 160 PSI.

  4. Can this be used to blow out lines for winterizing? When doing this you MUST keep pressure below 50 PSI otherwise you can blow apart the water lines.

    1. This compressor can be used to winterize RV water lines with the RV winterization kit #90145 that is available from the manufacturer. Northern Tool does not currently offer this kit.
