    1. The toolbox is welded. It would be water resistant, but not waterproof. There is no seal around the lid, if water were to get under the lid when closed, it could get into the box.

    1. In the industry, weatherproof/waterproof would mean you could submerge the toolbox in water like a pond or lake while weather resistant/water resistant means if it gets rained on it is fine but not submersible in a body of water. This toolbox and really all similar type boxes are not weatherproof/waterproof. They are weather/water resistant.

    Does the container's lid have weather seal. In other words if stored out side can water enter the container? The position of the hinge suggests an open joint.
