Product Summary

The Ultra-Tow XTP Ultra-Pack Trailer Hub is a fully assembled, prelubed hub designed to simplify bearing maintenance and extend service life. Its proprietary Ultra-Pack greasing system allows bearings to be repacked through an integrated zerk fitting without hub removal, pushing old grease out the front for a complete refresh while protecting the rear seal. Built with high-quality cast iron construction and a corrosion-resistant electro-plated finish, this hub is designed for dependable trailer performance. The Ultra-Tow XTP Ultra-Pack Trailer Hub works with existing spindles and includes bearings, seal, grease cap with zerk fitting, stud nuts and a dust cap installation tool.

  5. These hubs come with grease inside them already. I prefer not to mix grease with different brands. Is there a standard size grade tube I can buy for my grease gun with the same brand grease in it??

    1. The grease used is JIELING general-purpose lithium non marine grade grease. This is not a grease Northern Tool currently offers separately.

  6. Why do these come with an extra bearing seal? The back side already has the seal on it. The front side doesn't use a seal with the metal dust cap. Am I missing something??

    1. The kit includes a 1.25" seal and a 1.5" seal. This will be so that the hub can work in different applications.

  7. What is the thread size and pitch of the wheel studs?

    1. The bolts are 1/2" diameter and 20 TPI.

  8. Are there cap covers to contain the grease?

    Can the grease fly out onto the wheels from the bearing cap?

    My city hits temps well over 100 degrees in the summer, can these bearing caps with grease outlets leak or are they spring loaded or something?

    1. The grease in this hub will not fly out onto the wheels through the dust cap and rubber plug. The rubber plug that caps the grease access hole in the dust cap is designed to have a tight seal when installed properly. Also, the grease used in this hub wouldn't change from its semi-solid state to a liquid state until it reached 446 degrees Fahrenheit. Even at ambient temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the grease would still be in its grease like consistency.
