    4. This cargo hauler doesn't come with wheels. It mounts to a car or truck with a 2" hitch receiver. Below the main picture of the cargo hauler, there are images of this hauler mounted to a vehicle.

  2. Will the carrier mount of the front of a vehicle with a 2" receiver?

    1. YES, IT FIT'S 2" RECEIVER.

    2. It would fit any standard 2’ receive, front or back would not matter

    3. This carrier is compatible with all 2" receiver hitches. Mounting to a front hitch may not be compatible with all vehicles and it would be up to the owner to determine the compatibility. The owner is also responsible for following local laws.

  3. Does this cargo hauler have let-down gate so electric wheelchair can be loaded ?

    I have a very extensive articulating wheelchair that makes into a bed, and reclines or raises the foot pads as well. But it's not able to be lifted above the 8" side or end panels. Does this carrier have a provision for letting down one of the end gates to allow power chair loading ? Thank you.

    1. The aluminum cargo carrier does not include a ramp. The item number 57316 does come with a three position ramp allowing to be folded to the tailgate or trunk.

    1. The rails are removable. It is not recommended to use the carrier with out the side rails.

  6. weight capacity

    it has a 500# weight capacity. would it carry a 200# tub directly over the hitch, or must the weight be distributed over the whole frame?

    1. 200# centered directly over the hitch would be ideal, as long at that load is more or less secured there, and not free to slide, say from left to right. Even then, one could still place somewhat lighter tubs on either side, of the center 200# tub.

  7. What are the quality of the screws that hold the assembly together?

    1. Everything look like quality parts to me. Only time will tell.

  8. Is it 100% aluminum? If not, what parts are steel?

    1. Receiver mount (underneath) and the larger mounting bolts and nuts are steel. Corner pieces are plastic. The rest of the frame and the smaller assembly nuts and bolts all appear to be aluminum. Very sturdy and a capable of handling the listed weight rating.

    2. The support tube and the attached mounting brackets are made of steel. The rest of this cargo hauler is made of aluminum.

  9. How long is the receiver bar stick out once the bar is in the receiver? Can the unit be stored with the receiver bar up and the basket side in the back lay flat on the ground or floor?

    1. The receiver tube measures 8.625" from the edge of the carrier to the end of the receiver tube. It measures 6.188" from the edge of the carrier to the center of the hitch pin hole. The carrier can be stored on the Ultra-Tow name plate side of the basket with the receiver bar pointing upward.

  10. Is it normal fir the carrier to have a little give or should not move

    1. The hitch may wobble for a number of reasons, including having a loose hitch bolt, a worn out hitch or improper installation. An anti-rattle device can be installed to prevent this. We offer item 5936932 or item 106428.
