  1. I need to drain 2 koi ponds. One is 5300gals and the other is 4400gals. There is debris and small rocks on the bottom of these ponds. Does this pump have a basket of sorts protecting the intake area from debris?

    1. This pump comes with a strainer stand on the bottom so larger items don't get through.

  2. How many GPM at 40' head? Can a pipe be threaded into the discharge?

    1. The GPH at 40' head will be 3,600 GPH, anything beyond 62' will diminish the GPM. There are to many variables to accurately calculate this number, (type of hose being used, hose inner lining, ambient outdoor temperature, lift etc). If you intend on using this is the same place, than PVC pipe is recommended.

  3. how does it turn on and off

    does this pump turn on when it see water , or it only comes on when you turn it on

    1. The Tsurumi Sand/Trash Pump will start by the current between the electrode and the level relay unit. When water rises to 6.5", the pump will start automatically.
