Motor is totally enclosed, permanently lubricated and sleeve bearing, with a 5/16in. shaft and 42 frame size.

Is it posible to direct this fan to blow straight down?

I have a garage to basement stairwell that needs ventilation. I am hoping to find a small fan I can hang from the ceiling a point it directly towards the stairs. Any suggestions?
