  2. I'd want to attach the top of the ladder to a fixed dock, and have the bottom rest on a floating dock. Does the ladder need to be locked in the down position for use? Could we use it when the floating dock has risen causing the ladder to angle out?

    1. The ladder does not require a manual locking mechanism, but is designed to be installed as a permanent or semi-permanent fixture to the dock. It must be bolted to your dock surface. It will hold itself down due to the water weight. The ladder does not need the bottom to rest on a lake bed or require the bottom to rest on a floating dock. The back of the stairs must rest flat and unobstructed against a solid vertical dock surface in the downward position.

  3. What is the highest point when folding

    1. The flip dock ladder has a total height of 55" with its vertical distance from the top on your dock to the bottom of the ladder being 55" when the steps are flipped down and out of the water. The 55" measurement refers to the ladder's length that extends below the dock when in the water.
