    1. Model # EF-10 is not suitable for operation in unfiltered, dusty ducts. Please ensure that an upstream filter is installed and maintained; heavy dust requires seasonal removal and cleaning to prevent motor damage. Refer to the manual for maintenance details.

  3. to connect this fan to my residential A/C system to run at the same time the system is ON, and shut off when the system shuts OFF are any accessories necessary?

    9 inch duct splits off to 8 and 7 in ducts.
    Need a 9 inch fan before the split.
    Does anyone make a 8 inch duct fan?
    Can't find one anywhere.

    1. The Tjernlund Duct Booster Fan can we wired to run constantly. It may shorten the lifespan of the fan but would not void the warranty.

    Can this fan be controlled by a thermostat in the room I'm drawing the air from? ......This Duct Booster Fan would be placed in the crawl space over my family room and used to draw hot air (warmed by the ProCom PCD24TD Vent Free Log Set purchased from Northern in Jan-2012) through flex duct into the upstairs of my end-stairwell colonial style home. I would like to install it with a thermostat mounted near the air intake in the ceiling.

    1. This Tjernlund Duct Booster Fan can be used as a utility fan and controlled by a thermostat. The thermostat should be in the area you are trying to control.

  7. can these types of duct booster fans be used for ventalation of a room to the outdoors?

    can these types of duct booster fans be used for ventalation of a room to the outdoors? similiar to a small whole house fan? I'm looking to take a small area and vent outdoors up an abandoned chiminey, will not be much static pressure.

    1. This Duct Booster Fan is designed for duct work, but could be used as a ventilation fan. Insulation contrary to manufacturer's installation instructions may void warranty.
