  2. What is the largest practical diameter log these tongs will grip? I see the 28in jaw statement, but I doubt that is the actual limit.

    1. The tongs will open and grip with a maximum diameter of 28 inches.

  3. Gripping teeth included?

    Do the gripping teeth come with the tongs or do these have to be ordered separately? Typically how long do the teeth last, break or require sharpening?

    1. The log tongs do come with one set of gripping teeth included. Additional replacement gripping teeth can be purchased through Northern. See below.
      There is not a rating for length of time before replacing the teeth. They are not designed to be resharpened.

  4. Can these tongs also lift?

    Any reason these tongs can't be used for lifting the end of a log (e.g., with tractor hydraulics)? I'd like to be able to lift long logs by the end so I can insert small log underneath to allow me to cut log into firewood rounds without chainsaw hitting ground.
