  1. how much actual ventilation is needed is needed to safely operate this heater indoors? Just cracking doors or windows or actual ventilation system?

    1. A minimum clearance to combustibles of 84"at the front and 36" on each side is required. Since there is no ducting, ventilation must be provided by opening windows and doors.

  2. Does the heater burn #2 diesel or does it need #1? How loud is the heater?

    1. This heater is designed to run on diesel fuel, kerosene, or a mixture of both. However, it is specifically tuned for #2 diesel fuel for optimal performance. Using #1 diesel is not recommended.

      It does not have a specific decibel level, but is considered to have low noise.

    1. This heater can be used indoors, provided the space is well-ventilated. It is designed for large indoor areas like garages, workshops, warehouses and pole barns.

  4. Is there any way to exhaust out vapors/fumes from the heater? Is here a area on the heater to attach a pipe for exhaust? Thank you

    1. You would not need to exhaust the vapors and fumes from this heater. It is a radiant heater and puts out very little carbon monoxide when properly maintained. It burns the fuel to create an infrared radiation to heat. It would require some fresh air. Instructions would be included in the product manual.

  5. Can you wire a thermostat to this?

    1. The heater can be wired to an optional thermostat. It is pre-wired for adding a thermostat. It would need to be a standard mechanical or a battery operated wall thermostat. It cannot be wired to a thermostat that requires 120 volt power source.

  6. I am ignorant regarding diesel fuels.  Does this unit run on the kind of diesel available at gas pumps with the green handle?

    1. It is recommended to use off-road or "red dye" diesel for this portable radiant heater.

  8. can I use it in a paint booth to speed up the process of cure with our piping? is this explosion-proof? (fumes, flammable gases etc)

    1. This heater is not explosion proof. It requires a minimum 84” inches of clearance to anything combustible from the front of the heater including any combustible fumes in the air.

  9. I have dirty fuel, a mix of diesel and gas, would this have an issue burning what i would consider a 90/10 mix of diesel and gas?

    1. It would not be recommended to use a gas and diesel mixture in this radiant heater. Any combination of diesel and kerosene can be used, but gasoline cannot be used in the unit.
