  1. Why 15amp when wire is 12 gauge

    1. The 12/3 specification refers to the power cord. The plugs are 5-15A and are only rated up to 15 amps.

  2. If a cord plugged into this adapter falls in to lake or pool Would it trip the gfi/circuit protector?

    1 answer

    1. It is best practice to keep cords away from the water if possible. The GFCI protector is designed to trip if a cord plugged into it falls into water and creates a ground fault. If the plug and cord are intact and no current is flowing or leaking, the GFCI may not trip immediately. If the device is turned on and electricity is actively flowing, falling into water will almost certainly cause a ground fault and trip the GFCI.
