  1. ratchet handle

    does the handle allow you to actually rachet up the jack?

    1. No. Like all jack stands of this variety, the stem must be manually lifted, and the "ratchet" really isn't a ratchet, but rather a variable placement for the stem lock.

    2. No, the handle just releases the stand. You have to pull up on the neck to move it. These are meant only to support. You still need to jack something up, but these are a more stable support than just a jack.

    Is the 6-ton rating effective when 'both' are used, or is the rating 6-ton 'per' jack stand?

    1. This jack stand set will have a 12,000 pound capacity for the pair. Each jack stand is rated for 6,000 pounds.

  3. So I got this with the off-road jack that’s able to raise my lifted truck with the 29 inch height however, these jack stands cannot go as high. My question is can I block with wood?

    1. Blocking the jack stands with wood is not recommended as the wood could split, crack or compress under the concentrated weight of the load.
