    What grade of steel is this made out of?

    1. I just put one of these together a few hours ago and I am an engineer. I have no idea what the alloy is and not sure why it would matter, but the tubing is substantially thick walled, the bolts plates are about 5/16 thick and the welding is pretty adequate. There are no flexing issues when everything is tightened up. It's a good solid structure with a nice paint job. Hope that helps you put.

    2. The steels a tubular that is very sturdy and appears to be strong enough for hauling logs 18 inches as stated .

  2. Why is this limited to 18 inch diameter. It looks like it could hold much wider

    1. In order for safe handling, it is only recommended to be used with logs up to 18" diameter.

  3. Need to take this to another job site. My ATV take up all available space in back of my short box pick-up. Is it safe to tow the arch behind the pick-up on a paved highway/freeway, if so is there a max speed not to exceed?

    1. This log skidding arch is not rated for highway use, it should not exceed 10 MPH.

    1. The inside width of the vertical frame tubes is 26.38".

  5. can it hold larger diameter if hung wee lower like 20" logs

    1. The max diameter logs this is designed for is 18". Use of larger diameter logs is not recommended.

  6. What are the dimensions of the square tubing that is used to fabricate the frame on this unit? outside dimensions and wall thickness.

    1. The trailer tongue measures 1.97" x 1.97" and has a wall thickness of 0.12". The metal framework measures 1.6" x 1.6" and has a wall thickness of 0.12".

  7. Has anyone put wider/fat/turf/balloon tires on this logging arch to help get it thru the mud? Any NT parts to do that?

    1. A wider tire would not be recommended as it could rub on the skidding arch. Any alterations may void the manufacturer's warranty.
