    Cedar is much better with water and rot resistance. Fir is more common and will require some additional protection (stain, paint, etc.).

    1. We ordered the bar height table to go with these chairs. It looks good together. We may cut the legs down a little as I find it awkwardly tall.

    1. This chair is perfect for looking above a deck railing. the seat measures about 26” and the arms are just above our 36” standard height railing.

    Since this is non treated wood I would assume it should be painted and not stained to prevent rot. Is that correct and is there any other suggestions? Thanks

This can be stained or painted to match your decor. Fir wood (Cunninghamia lanceolata) is naturally decay and insect resistant.
