Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
Sort by:

  1. Does this model use straight high octane gas?

    1 answer

    1. The Stihl BG 86 uses a 50:1 mixture of premium unleaded gasoline (maximum 10% ethanol) and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil.

      Helpful?

  2. Is this blower 2 cycle?

    1 answer

    1. The blower would have a 2-cycle engine and would require a 50:1 gas and oil mix.

      Helpful?

  3. Is this blower strong enough for blowing a yard full of leaves in the fall ? Or do i need to spend more and get the big back pack blower ??

    1 answer

    1. The Stihl Gas-Powered Handheld Blower is quite powerful for a handheld unit, with a 27.2cc engine and an air volume of 444 CFM (cubic feet per minute). This makes it suitable for most residential yard tasks, including blowing leaves in the fall.

However, if you have a large yard or a significant amount of leaves to clear, you might find a backpack blower more efficient. Backpack blowers typically offer higher CFM and MPH (miles per hour), which can make the job quicker and less physically demanding.
