    1. Turn off the trimmer and remove the battery or spark-plug connection for safety. Flip the trimmer over and locate the two pieces of line in the DuroCut 20-2 head. Grip each piece of old line and pull it straight out of the head, wiggling it gently if it is stuck. You do not need to remove or open the head.
