  1. Can I buy a replacement cutting head

    1. Stihl parts are not available for sale online. You would need to locate a local Stihl Dealer or Service Station. Most Northern Tool stores are Stihl dealers or service stations.

    1. 1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool down. Disconnect the spark plug cap and position the trimmer with the head facing up.

      2. Press the two tabs on the bump-feed head and gently pull the spool straight off.

      3. Remove any old line and debris from the spool, and check the internal spring for functionality.

      4. Cut two lengths of nylon line, each measuring 8 feet (2.4 meters) and with a diameter of 0.095 inches (2.4 mm).

      5. Hook one end of each line into the spool notch and wind the line clockwise, ensuring that the coils are tight. Leave approximately 6 inches (150 mm) of line free.

      6. Feed the free ends of the line through the exit holes on the head, align the spool tabs, and press the spool upwards until it clicks into place.

      7. While the trimmer is idling, gently tap the head on the ground. Each tap should advance a fresh line. If it does not, adjust the winding tension accordingly.

    1. The string trimmer does not include any attachments and there are no attachments available for it. It can use different trimmer heads and blades.

  4. How? To change my trimmer line correctly I've been having

    1. To reload the trimmer line on this string trimmer, it would be recommended to do the following: Disassemble the trimmer head by turning the bump knob counterclockwise to remove the head and spool. Then prepare the line by cutting two pieces of trimmer line, each 10-12 feet long, and folding them in half, aligning at the ends. Load the line by inserting the folded end of the line into the holes on either side of the spool's center. Wind the line onto the spool in the direction indicated by the arrow of the spool, ensuring the line is wound tightly and evenly, keeping the two strands separate. Lock the line by locating the tabs on the spool, aligning the line with the tabs, and pushing it in and locking it. Ensure the spring is sealed correctly. Thread the line through the eyelets, then push the spool into the head and rotate it slightly to lock it in place. Reattach the trimmer head to the trimmer, replacing the bump knob and tightening it, then cut the excess line to the desired length using the cutter on the trimmer guard.
