    When you say that this drill press oscillates for sanding, which way does it oscillate? The definition of oscillating is: "to swing or move to and fro, as a pendulum does. ". So does the sanding drum oscillate up and down or side to side?

    1. Thank you for reaching out. It features an integral spindle and arbor. To remove the chuck from the arbor, you would need to use Jacobs drill chuck removal wedges designed for a JT33. Alternatively, you can lower the spindle all the way down and then tap the back edge of the chuck with a deadblow hammer to break the taper connection. Afterward, you can install a JT33 keyless chuck, such as our SB1375.

    1. We appreciate your inquiry. This machine features a spindle with a JT33 taper at the end. It does not have a separate arbor, as the spindle and taper are integrated.

  7. is the oscillating feature usable with mortising bits, or only for sanding ?

    1. Thank you for reaching out. The drill press lacks the necessary sturdiness to withstand the force required for making a mortise. There is a high risk of damaging or breaking the pinion shaft or the handle shafts while attempting to do so. Also this machine lacks the clearance to make this usable for mortising.

    1. A drill press vice can be installed. Some items that would work are item #64978 and #67846.
