  1. Can the motor be mounted on the wall?

    Want to minimize floor space, and keep the header pipe up along the ceiling. Mounting on the wall up high is preferred.

    1. This model is not suitable for wall mounting. Please view items 83114 and 81967 for wall mounted options.

    2. The design for this item and all Shop Fox items is very specific. Moving the motor to be wall mounted is not recommended as it could cause a negative change in safety and efficiency. If wall mounting is the goal, item 83114 or item 81967 is recommended. Please view these options below.

  3. Can the W1685 be converted to a suspended wall mount

    1. Thanks for reaching out. We've never tried converting this one to a wall mount, so it's not something we can recommend. G0944 has a similar CFM rating to this one and is a wall mount machine.

  4. Is it just the motor or does it come with the bags and hose?

    1. We appreciate your interest. This machine includes everything pictured in the first photo. You will still need hose to connect the dust collector to your machine.

    1. We appreciate your inquiry. We do not offer an auto-start accessory specifically for the W1685. However, we do have a remote start accessory available with the T33308.

  6. Can this be wired to run 220V?

    1. Thank you for reaching out with your question. Our W1685 1-1/2 HP Dust Collector operates on 110V, single phase, and it cannot be wired to work on 220V. However, we have a wide selection of dust collectors designed specifically for 220V that you might find suitable for your needs. Please call our Product Support team for assistance selecting the machine that will best meet your requirements.

  7. I have the W1685 and when in use the dust never goes to the bottom bag. Everything stays in the top bag until I turn the unit off.

    1. Thank you for reaching out. On the W1685 Dust Collector, if the dust is not dropping, please follow these steps: Clean the upper bag by knocking all the dust out. Ensure that the ring still has its flange and that it is pointing downward. Look for any cracks or leaks. If further assistance is needed, please contact our Product Support team.

  8. For those that have this unit, is a 20A circuit a hard requirement or is a dedicated 15A line sufficient? I have other 1.5hp devices that run fine on a 15A line, and I see other 1.5hp dust collectors that run on 15A.

    1. Thank you for contacting us. We recommend using a 20 amp breaker for the dust collector. A 15 amp breaker may trip during startup due to the initial load.   9. I’m trying to upgrade to a canister and what size canister can I put on Shop-fox W1865

  10. Can the filter bag be washed, or does need to be replaced when dirty?

    1. Thank you for your inquiry. The filter bags are washable but do not use detergent. Allow them to fully air dry before reuse, and over time, you may need to consider replacing them.
