Product Summary

The W1874 15in. Fixed Table Planer W/Helical Cutterhead features a powerful 3 HP motor and 5200 RPM, 4-row helical cutterhead. The fixed table height design allows for permanent infeed/outfeed roller setups for greater efficiency in production settings. Carbide inserts with 4 cutting edges make for ultra-smooth finishes in figured wood and last up to 10 times longer than conventional knives. The 2-speed gearbox allows you to choose between 16 and 28 FPM for a smooth finish or high production feed rate. Sturdy four-column supports with twin gas struts on either side make for easy headstock height adjustments.

    1. Thanks for your question. The G0891 and W1874 are the same, the main difference is the color and branding. The W1874 also includes a 2 year warranty.

  3. What gear oil is used from the factory? I would rather top off with the same oil than drain and refill since some original will of course be left behind.

    1. We appreciate your inquiry. Our machines are not shipped with oil from the factory. There may be some residual oil remaining from quality control, but we do not have details about the type of oil used during testing. If you find residual oil in the gearbox, we recommend draining it and refilling with ISO 320, SAE 140 gear oil, or SAE 85W–140 multi-weight gear oil. Please avoid mixing different types of oil.

    1. Thank you for getting in touch with us. For the W1874 Planer, you will need the H9893 Carbide Insert. However, we do not have information on the specific angles of the cutters or their orientation within the machine. These measurements are not required for operation, and we do not have the means to accurately measure them.
