It is attached about 6 inches up from the ground with a pole that runs the depth of the building. I have a 40' building as well and that has not been an issue

By sliding bottom rails through pockets in the cover and then tightening clamps on those rails to the vertical legs. It allows a very tight and secure attachment. The side skirting drapes down farther than ground level, so no problem there. The ends are a bit higher. I use straw bales on the back end to prevent drifting. The front will be cleared for access by shovel or snow blower, so no problem there.

I don't know for sure yet, but it's looks to me like there will be some snow getting in. There is about a 2"-4" gap under the front door. The sides looks pretty close to the ground and should keep most snow out from the sides.

The canopy is attached to the lower structure by running a support bar through a loop in the canopy and then putting tension downwards on the canopy while you tighten down the bolts on the support bars. The lower flap on the canopy can then be tucked under the support post to keep out most of the snow. The two ends of the garage will let some snow in but over my winters I found very little inside. A board (2 x 8) across the back side could stop most of the snow from coming in.

The canopy attaches to the ground using six 15in. auger anchors and eight Ratchet Tite ratchets and 8 steel foot plates. It is still possible that in some conditions snow could collect at the ground level inside the canopy.

Sure you can remove back panel, but it's not easy to go back and forth with it on and off so decide and leave it or just order another front door with zipper and change it out.

You can leave the back off, but it's not removable once it's on. The roof cover goes over the back wall and helps hold it in place.

You can anchor it to anything you like, but you have to provide the concrete anchors. The provided anchors are only temporary and not for concrete.

Yes, in fact I anchored mine with Tapcon screws and washers to concrete blocks through the holes in the feet. Then anchored the 4 corners by drilling holes and using longer Tapcons.

The Garage-in-a-Box comes with six anchors that are made to be used in soft ground or dirt. The manufacturer does offer alternative anchoring options. Contact the manufacturer for more information.

This garage in a box original shelters series is very well built and the new alpine roof design sheds snow real well. The manufacturer does not have an actual snow load rating on the garage kit, but I know several friends who live in snow New England states and they say that this shelter is real good at snow load. I have looked at other designs myself in the garage in a box series by the manufacturer shelterlogic originalshelters.com and this particular roof design seems to be the best for snow areas. I would recommend making sure the ratchets are tight at all times to avoid any sagging on the portable garage shelter roof system. This will allow ultimate snow shedding.

We had six feet of snow last year, with a max of 38 inches at one time. The GIB had no trouble with it. The structure of the frame gives it almost a gambrel roof (think barn), though slightly rounded. As a result, only the central six feet of the roof retains any snow at all -- snow just slides off the steeper outer slope. The color of the material that ISN'T covered with snow is dark, so the GIB heats up on the first sunny day, and all the remaining snow slides right off. I was amazed that on a windless sunny day when the temp outside was five below, the temp inside the GIB was about 50.

It is advised to remove any accumulated snow as the garage is not snow rated. The garage will not handle 3 feet of snow.

They can't be connected, but, I did put 2 end to end and omitted the 2 panels in the middle. It left a very small gap in the tarps which I taped together from the inside with 4 inch shrink wrap tape.

Two of these units cannot be hooked together to achieve a 40 foot depth.

To the cross members of the truss's is about 9 -10 feet , but it's only about 8 1/2 ' to the top of the roll up door.

Might be...but if so, that info isn't listed in Northern Tool's specs, nor could I find it on the ShelterLogic website. I can tell you from experience this winter, that it has no trouble with three feet of (admittedly dry) snow, and the snow only accumulated on the center of the roof. The hipped-roof causes most snow to slide right off the steeper part of the roof.

Because ShelterLogic products are not engineered buildings they CAN NOT be snow load rated. Proper anchoring of your structure minimizes the impact from snow. Keeping snow roff the roof area is strongly recommended.

The front panel can be removed. It will not allow for any extra clearance there will be a pole going across holding the frame together.
