  1. Can this maintainer be left hooked up to my car battery (removed from car) and unattended for 4 months? re: amps...the "full product description" states 3 amps. I have read that a maintainer should usually be 1-1.5 amps Is 800mAh a measure of amperage?

The battery maintainer can be connected to the car battery for up to 4 months unattended. 800mAh (milliamp-hours) is not a measure of amperage for a battery maintainer. 800mAh represents the battery's capacity or how much current it can deliver over a period of time, measured in milliamp-hours. The range of 1 to 5 amps indicated the current it provided to the battery.

  2. The green light is staying on way past the 26 hr mark. When the green light turns off the battery is fully charged. When will it turn off.

    1. The green light on this battery maintainer would be green when charging. Once fully charged the light should go off. If the light stays on past the 26 hours it would be switched over to a maintenance mode that will keep a trickle charge to maintain the battery health.

    1. The battery charger is water-resistant, but not waterproof. It can withstand water ingress from rain, but cannot be submerged in water.

  5. What is the operating temperature range of the Schumacher battery maintainer?  I plan to put on a car winter garage stored in temps down to -20F or so, max.

    1. The battery minder will work in temperatures of -4 to +122 degrees.

    1. The maintainer can be used while the battery is in the vehicle. Important Note - do not start the vehicle with the charger connected to the AC outlet.

    1. It is not recommended to be used on two batteries in parallel. The output of 0.8 amps will be to low for this application.
