If the light green squeeze block on your Scepter SmartControl spout has popped off, it usually cannot be reliably snapped back together while the internal child-safety spring and locking pin are out of place. Because these components are heavily spring-loaded and strictly regulated for child resistance, popping the pad back on without aligning the internal spring often results in a broken assembly or a non-functional valve. Make sure you have the light green block pad, the internal metal spring, and the dark green lock tab/pin if they came loose. Position the spring back into its housing seat inside the sliding mechanism so it provides resistance against the rear. Carefully guide the tracks of the light green block back onto the guiding rails of the nozzle housing and press firmly until the plastic clips click back into the grooves. Check for breakage. If there is any breakage you would need a new nozzle spout.
