    90/140 wt. gear oils.

    1. I have evacuated oil up to 140w with no problem. Heavier weight oils will naturally take longer.

  2. Wire inside flexible oil suction probes (tubes)?

    I have purchased this oil changer and each of the 4 flexible oil suction probes (tubes) has a metal wire inside of it running the length of the tube. Is this wire supposed to be removed from the flexible oil suction probe (tube) before it is used?

    1. The dipstick tubes also have a wire inside them. They should be left alone. They are there to help keep the tube straight.

    3. This Roughneck Air-Operated Oil Changer has a steel coil in the flexible oil suction tube that should remain inside. It should not be removed.

  3. Can you recommend the smallest capable gas powered air compressor that would run this extractor?

    1. The air compressors may need to be dialed down to the proper specifications to ensure the extractor works properly. Please note the oil extractor will work well with 100-115 PSI and 3-4 CFM. Please view item #25654 a small, portable 20 gallon air compressor that can be used with this.

    2. Below are the smallest gas operated air compressors that would work with this item. The air compressors may need to be dialed down to the proper specifications to ensure the extractor works properly. Please note the oil extractor will work well with 100-115 PSI (pounds per square inch) and 3-4 CFM's (cubic feet per minute).

  9. Does the end of the suction hose need to be submerged in the oil before it will start sucking the oil out? Or does it have suction power without being submerged completely ?
