  1. Can I make the hand chain shorter?

    1. We put the extra chain in a bucket. If you want a shorter unit, they make a 10' one. We needed the 20' capability.

  2. What does the headroom dimension refer to?

    1. 14" needed from I-Beam to hook.

  3. how do you reverse direction of hoist?

    eg. If hoisting up and need to go back down, how do you reverse the direction?

    1. Just pull on the other end of the chain and the load will lower.

    2. To reverse direction on a Roughneck Manual Chain Hoist, simply pull the chain in the opposite direction. We provide a different color chain(silver) to easily identify the chain used to raise and lower. If pulling down on the right side chain, just pull down on the left chain to change directions.

  4. How long is the hand chain on hoist on item number 21302-2201

    1. I do not know the exact length, but it is more than long enough to grab something 20' down. We had to get a bucket for the hand chain in order to keep things tidy.
