This will be a drive type fitting. There is no need for a tap. To install a drive-type fitting, you will need a hammer and a grease-fitting drive tool (1/4” or 5/16” socket will work as well). The drive tool fits over the grease zerk, connecting with a shoulder above the shank. The fitting is driven into the hole by tapping the drive tool with the hammer.
