  1. Would this work for pumping 98% Sulfuric acid?

    1. Sulfuric acid is very corrosive and not recommended for use with the materials in this pump.

    2. No. It has aluminum wetted parts. Dangerous. You must have a poly pump thru and thru rated specifically for sulfuric acid and you must protect from any water intrusion or risk violent catastrophic failure.

  3. What brand motor is in this unit?

    1. The air motor assembly is manufactured to our specifications for us by ITI Intradin Co Ltd. It is considered to be the Roughneck brand.

  4. Will this pump work with Jet Fuel?

    1. Jet fuel is not compatible with components of this pump, so it should not be used for that application.

  8. Will this pump handle sodium and potassium hydroxide?

    1. According to the scope of chemical usage, on page 15 of the product manual, there is insufficient information on potassium hydroxide with regards to the EPDM and aluminum body of the pump. For the rest of the pump, this chemical can have minor to moderate effects. On that same page, it shows that sodium hydroxide is not recommended for use with the Viton material and aluminum pump body. It also has minor to moderate effects on the rest of the pump.

  9. WILL THIS HANDLE 30 % CALCIUM CHOLRIDE

    1. This pump will not work for that application. At this time Northern Tool does not stock a pump that would be designed for use with calcium chloride.

  10. Will this unit pump a solvent based cure and seal for concrete? Does it have a 55 gallon drum pump kit?

    1. The manual has on page 14 and 15 a Scope of Chemical Usage chart that should be used to determine if a chemical is compatible with the Nitrile seals used on this pump. This pump contains aluminum wetted parts cannot be used with III.-Trichloroethane, Methylene Chloride or other Halogenated Hydrocarbon solvents which may react and explode.
      Northern Tool does not offer a 55-gallon drum pump kit for this pump.
