Product Summary

Ridged Slats 4ft. Vertical Privacy Slats are single-wall, flat-angular, extrusion-formulated using High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) combined with additives to ensure color and functionality for years. These slats are economical and easy to install -- no tools required. They add approximately 85% privacy to regular 2in. diamond, 11-gauge chain link fabric. (Diamond is measured from inside to inside of each parallel side.) These slats also work with 9- or 11 1/2-gauge chain link fabric. Each slat is 3.5in. shorter than the actual height of the fence.

My fence is 3.5 feet in height so I’m assuming I should buy the 4 foot slats. Are they easy to cut to size? What tool is recommended?

  It would be best to use a circular saw with a fine-toothed blade to cut the slats.

Will this help with wind? We sometimes get winds as strong as 75mph, we even had a Derico which went over 100mph.

  The slats would help to deflect the wind and could withstand the high winds. You would also want to be sure your fence is installed sturdily in the ground.

The vertical slats is there a horizontal piece supplied that the vertical slats snap into that locks them in at the bottom.there is no mention of that,without the horizontal pieces I don't see how the. Privacy system works,?

Is this product pretty sturdy against wind? I live in the desert where we can get pretty high winds of 50+ mph. Would the wind break through these or does this product create such a block that the wind would pull down the whole fence?
