  1. Tow attachment?

    Is there a tow attachment that can be added? I need to tow it behind my John Deere to get the that areas of my yard

    2. The included tow bar will connect to a pin hitch, but it was too short to work on my ATV.

    3. It comes with a handle that can be attached to a trailer
      hitch. Remove the ball and put the U shaped end of the handle over the ball mount hole so it straddles the hitch and drop the pin and cotter in place. Works great.

  2. Will the chipper self-feed once started, or do you have to manually feed it?

    1. I'd say it's not 100% self-feeding, but you can tell it's drawing in limbs as long as you're providing some/minimal assistance.

    2. Yes.. as long as the blades are fairly sharp, it sort of "pulls" the limbs into the unit. That's one way to judge if you need to replace / sharpen your blades... if you have to force feed it.

    3. I would say it self feeds once started, but as it pulls in a branch you have to keep pushing it in to get the fanned out smaller stuff to get into the feed. You don't have to force things in against the blades, but do need to force them in past the guides/covers.

    4. Usually it will, but mine will not jerk it out of your hands.

    5. Hold branches and brush loosely, and allow the chipper shredder to draw the material in. The machine sometimes will draw material in very quickly and caution should be used not to hold on tightly to the material. Please follow the manufacturer’s directions when using chipper shredders.

    1. It's fairly easy to move around. The whole thing is about 275 lbs, but it doesn't feel like it once it's on wheels.

  4. WILL IT CHIP DEAD LIMBS?

    WILL THE CHIPPER WORK WITH DEAD PINE LIMBS THAT KEEP FALLING OFF MY TREES?

    1. I've got tons of them and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Just keep an eye on the sap and keep the chipper clean.

    2. Yes, I've chipped dead limbs and green limbs. This eats pine very smoothly. You just need to make sure that the limbs aren't dirty, since rocks/dirt may dull the blades.

    The Features say this unit has vacuum but there is nothing in the instruction manual.
    How does the vacuum work?
    Can I suck up piles of leaves and shread them?

    1. The chipper does not vacuum.

    3. I haven't seen any way to hook any sort of vacuum to it. There is a bag for catching the chips after you have loaded things into it.

  6. What can you actually through in the hopper

    How big can the brush and branches be that you can through in the top hopper?

    1. Top feed is pretty particular. Nothing over 1-2 inch feeds well.

    2. The hopper is mainly for brush s and small branches and sticks, leaves, pine cones, things like that, all limbs go in the side shoot.

    3. The top hopper on this chipper/shredder can handle branches up to 3/8" thick. Anything larger should be fed into the side chipper funnel.

  7. Is there any recommended engine break in procedures?

    I did not see anything about it in the manual.

    1. There are some basic instructions, but I added all the fluids and let it run for about 20 minutes before running anything through it just to make sure it was well lubricated. It's already greased otherwise and so far it runs like a champ.

    2. Manual speaks to oil change time from first use. Not much else. Check it out.

    3. The first scheduled maintenance (break in) is changing the engine oil after the first 20 hours of use or after the first month (whichever comes first). The owner's manual for the engine is linked below the chipper/shredder's Product Summary section on our site. Click the link for "Product Manual B" to view the engine's owner's manual. The maintenance schedule for the engine is on page 35.

    2. It comes with the battery. Not a standard size. Suggest you jump start it if it fails, or if you're in good shape, pull to the supplied starter rope.
