  1. can hoses be purchased with this unit ?

    1. The hoses will have to be made to fit your tractor's hydraulic outlets as well as the correct length. I have 2 tractors with different outlet styles, so It fits one tractor, but not the other.

    2. Our local farm supply store has hoses made up. Connectors, too. If you have a larger tractor, I would purchase 10 ft long hoses to give a little slack.

    3. We are unable to provide the hydraulic hoses for this log splitter. The splitter will connect to the hydraulic hoses that are appropriate for your tractor.

  2. 13 ton or 20 ton model

    I have a John Deere 750 - it has a 4gpm flow. This is a touch too high for the 13 ton model but is likely way too low for the 20 ton model. Recommendation?

    1. My tractor puts out over 6 gpm. It works fine.

    2. This 13 ton log splitter cannot be used with a pump that exceeds 3 GPM. There is not a minimum GPM flow rate for item #1167, the 20 ton splitter. The 20 ton model accepts a maximum of 11GPM. While it operates with less GPM, the splitter is not as powerful. Northern Tool doesn't carry other 3-point log splitters. Click the links below to view gas powered splitters.

  3. what is the max jaw length of 13-ton, "18 inch"?

    How forgiving is the 18"? Can an occasional 19" or 18 1/2" log be persuaded to fit?

    1. This log splitter features an 18" cylinder. However, this splitter will split logs up to 19" long and 12" diameter.

  4. The specs say maximum pump 3GPM. Should this be minimum or will a pump of 6.3GPM be to much?

    1. This Powerhorse 3 point log splitter operates at 3 GPM at maximum, it will not support your 6.3 GPM.
