Removing coil springs can be an uneasy task inducing some unwanted tension during servicing. The innovative Powerbuilt Coil Spring Compressor is specially designed to make fast, easy, and most importantly, safe work out of removing and installing most automotive coil springs. The heavy-duty Chrome Vanadium Steel arms are unequal lengths to follow the spiral of both straight or curved coil springs up to 3/4in. diameter and a 6in. diameter coil. The Coil Spring Compressor meets or exceeds ASME, ANSI standards with a lifetime warranty. Kit includes a heavy-duty carry case with usage photos and detailed instructions.

  1. why aren't both H block hook holders threaded?

    1 answer

    1. There is one H Block that is threaded and one that is not. The non-threaded block is designed this way to prevent the screw rod from jamming when it is turned. If both blocks were threaded, it could cause issues. The non-threaded block allows the screw rod to be tightened while pressing down on the H Block and compressing the spring, enabling it to automatically adjust its position as needed.

      The bottom H Block is threaded because it serves as the mechanism for compressing the screw rod.
