  1. Is the Powerblanket tote heater approved for indoor and outdoor use?

    I need a tote heater rated for outdoor use.

    1. Yes. Powerblanket is US/CSA/ETL/ and CE certified for both indoor and outddor use. UV rated vinyl and insulated top cover make it the perfect outdoor solution for heating and maintaining temperature in totes and tanks. Great product and much cheaper than the competiton.

    2. These tote heaters are approved for indoor and outdoor use. They can get wet, however cannot be submerged in water.

  2. Is the temperature controller NEMA 4x and is it watertight?

    1. The themostat controller is Nema 4x rated for outdoor use and it is watertight.

  3. Can the Powerblanket be used during inclement weather? Ex: rain. Can the Powerblanket be used on the roof to heat roofing materials, 4'x4' pallets with 5 gallon pails stacked 3 high?

    1. The Powerblanket products are weather resistant and can be used in inclement weather. They are not waterproof for submersion. This product is only recommended for use with 275 gallon plastic or metal totes. Our item #4334569 or #60327 would be designed for use with a pallet.

  4. How fast will it heat a 275 gallon tote with 3300 lbs of product in it that has a specific heat of 0.85 btu/lb-F from 60 to 120 degrees?

    1. The best estimate would be 24 hours since it will depend on a variety of things including the ambient temperature. The unit would start off heating fast and slow down once it reaches it's set point
