  1. What's the biggest tree diameter recommended to cut with this 400e? Ex. 12", 14", or 16"?

    1. The saw will cut a 16 " tree if you maintain the saw correctly and use good saw procedures;ie; do not pinch the chain/bar, etc. I used a 14" bar before I got this one and I have cut down and cut up a 24" tree with it but it is hard on the saw. I would not do that 3 or 4 hours with out letting the saw cool down. I use a 4kw generator in the woods to power my 3 and 4 hp saws (one at a time).

    2. The manufacturer recommends a maximum diameter of 16" when using a saw with an 18" bar.

  2. More information needed

    Volts and amperes needed to operate the saw. To know the proper AC cable to use and if a normal 15 Amp circuit will carry the saw's needs.

    1. As far as I have experianced w /poulan saw just a standard extension cord (16g) has worked fine .
      however I am only using a 10ft.cord on a 15 AMP circuit ,so you know longer bigger!

    2. This saw draws 12 amps. The recommended power cord is: 16 gauge for distances of up to 25 ft. and 12 gauge for distances of 25 to 50 ft.

  3. How many watts will this saw require nominally and at peak performance?

    1 answer

    1. The electric chainsaw operates on 120 volt and requires 12 amps. Using the formulas amps x volts + watts, that would mean this requires 1440 watts to operate.
