At just 13 lb, it travels easily, yet its over-built gearbox delivers relentless torque across two distinct speed ranges—0 – 400 RPM for dense, high-viscosity mortar and 0 – 730 RPM for free-flowing self-level­lers and multi-component resins. That flexibility lets crews switch from cementitious underlayment to epoxy topcoat without swapping motors or paddles. Built for real-world workloads Every detail of the EM122S-110 is tuned for contractors who mix by the pallet, not by the quart. The all-metal transmission housing dissipates heat faster than plastic shells, while precision-cut steel gears stay engaged under shock loads that snap lesser tools. An oversized air intake draws cool air across the winding stack; directional vanes then funnel hot discharge away from the operator’s face for shift-long comfort. Inside, a conformal coating on the stator resists the alkaline slurry atomized during cement mixing—a common failure point in consumer-grade drills. Dual-mode operation Most hand mixers force you to choose between portability and ergonomics. Not the EM122S-110. Its M14 threaded shaft accepts standard European paddles for on-the-bucket work, yet it also drops straight into our Badger Mini Mixing Station. The Badger’s drive collar locks onto the mixer’s collar ring, suspending the motor over the pail so operators can dump powder bags with both hands while the machine does the grunt work. Need to dash into a mezzanine where the station can’t roll? Twist the quick-release knob, lift the mixer free, and you’re back to handheld mode in seconds. Smart speed selection Self-levelling underlayments demand a different shear profile than thick repair mortars. Set the rocker switch to Low (0 – 400 RPM) to prevent vortexing and entrained air in heavy mixes; flip to High (0 – 730 RPM) when you need high tip speed to break surface tension in resin systems. A variable trigger within each range lets you feather the start to fold in dry powder, then ramp up once the mix homogenizes.
