  1. Can this trailer be towed behind a vehicle on the road?

    Is the trailer street legal. with the appropriate coupler?

    1. No. Tires are not rated for road use, does not have high speed bearing hubs either. And the tongue does not use a DOT approved hitch. Simply a hole and pin attachment for riding mowers.

    2. slides up in out ..its good if u have two ppl u can dump and spread mulch dirt gravel by lifting the tailgate a lil and driving and spreading as u go instead of a full dump in one spot

  3. Needed horsepower to tow

    I have a John Deere D170 Lawn Tractor with a 25 Hp engine. Will that be enough for towing this trailer with a load of , say 400 lbs ?"\

    1. That should be more than adequate unless the terrain you are trying to traverse is really bad or wet.

    3. A 25 horsepower garden tractor would provide more than enough power to tow this trailer with a 400 pound load inside of it.

  4. carton size and weight

    what is the dimensions and weight of this carton ?

    1. Really close to 6' by 4' wide and about 16" tall. And very heavy! Over 120 lbs. It did slide into the back of our Honda Pilot. Sales associates loaded it for me and I simply opened the box and removed it part by part.

    2. Too late to answer as I just destroyed the carton but length and width wise it just fit on a single wooden pallet--I'd guess not more than 8-10" high. Weight was 150 lb according to the invoice. I had lift gate service so all I had to do was empty the carton and begin putting it together, I'm 80 years old and there was nothing too heavy that I couldn't handle alone--and did,

    1. Don't see why not. It'll need a piece plywood on the bottom of the trailer and some flat material for the side against the railing. Just don't load it more than 1,400 lbs

  7. How long is tongue?

    I have a basket bolted to the back of my ATV so concerned about sharp turns. Cargo dimensions read 60 inches and overall length as 92 inches. Just to make sure, tongue length from cargo basket to hitch is 32"?

    1. Should be fine, but you can add about 4 more inches by adding the optional 2" ball coupler

    2. This trailer has a tongue that is 32" long. This measurement is taken from the end of the tongue to the front of the cargo basket/bed.

    1. There would not be an area on the trailer to attach a pull handle to it.

  10. What size valve stem on the wheels and where can I get a replacement stem?

    1. The replacement wheel for your Polar HDM1400 trailer is a tubeless 18x9.5- 8 tire on a 3 1/4-inch hub. It uses a 0.453-inch valve stem hole and is compatible with standard TR-413 or TR-415 snap-in stems.
