    2. This digital inverter must be mounted to a flat surface. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically as long as there is 2" of unobstructed air space around the entire surface of the inverter at all times. This 2" air space requirement refers to the non-mounted sides of the inverter.

  2. Why is there a time limit on power generated?

    I noticed that 1500 watts will only be supplied for 5 minutes, and 600 watts for only 1 hour. Why is this? If the inverter is plugged into a running automobile, shouldn't the power supply be indefinite? Is it a matter of overheating? If, for example, you needed 1500 watts for 5 minutes, how long would you have to wait to run 1500 watts again?

    1. Plain and simple, heat generated and the rate at which it is dissapated.
      Inverters in general are usually capable of converting more energy to AC, but the heat sinks are usually not capable of dissapating the heat fast enough for continuous use.
      Consider it a compramise between small size and less cost, vs a larger heat sinnk and additional cost.

      There are too many variablesto really give an answer for how long before you can run 1500 watts again - mostly revolving around the ambient temp of the unit . It all depends on how quick it cools off.
      Bottom line is if you want to run 1500watts through an inverter, get one rated as such. Also, you cant 'plug' an inverter this size into a vehicle, it must be hardwired to the battery with heavy guage cables directly to the battery to prevent voltage drop.

      Furthermore, if you are intending to run at these wattages for long intervals do some homework on how much power is produced from the alternator in your (or any) vehicle. A typical 70 amp alternator is only producing 966 watts (70amps x 13.8v=966 watts); you can dray more, but the overhead comes from the battery which is limited in capacity.

    2. The limitations of the NPower Inverters are due to overheating. The harder they work the higher the temperature of the unit will become. The unit will automatically shut down when it overheats. When the internal temperature drops below the surrounding air temperature, the inverter will automatically return to normal operation. The time this takes will vary based on ambient temperatures. If you need to run larger draws for longer periods, you would need to buy a larger capacity inverter. The larger units won't have to work as hard to produce the wattage desired, and can run for longer periods.

    When you say it isn't safe with some power tool chargers, are you saying it could damage the charger, or injure the user?

    1. This inverter can be connected to a vehicle battery while the vehicle is running and charging the battery from the alternator.

  7. what cable to use from 12v battery to inverter?

    I want to use the inverter with my deep discharge 12v battery. Do you have a cable with the battery clips to connect the battery to the interter?

  8. at 1500 total watt, how much at each outlet plug ?

    at 1500 watts total, how much available out of each outlet ?
    I have the Remington electric 8' (10" chian blade) pole saw from Northern Tool. It is advertised to draw 8 amps. Can I operate it by plugging it into this 1500 watt inverter ? If so, I long of time could I run it without damaging the inverter ?

    1. You can run your pole saw with no problem using this inverter. The 1,500 watts is the total amount of wattage from all sources it can handle whether you use one outlet or all three.

    1. This 1500 watt inverter will almost certainly power a small television. The only way to know for sure is to find the power draw of your television. Watts = amps x volts. Find the amp draw in your manual or contact the manufacturer and multiply by voltage(120) to be certain.
