  1. Can I keep or add a tow hitch?

    I see from reading the Q & A that the bumper can no longer be used for towing once this is installed. Can a tow hitch be used in combination with this product? Can one be added later, or can this product be added to a truck with a tow hitch already installed?

    1. I had a new bumper fabricated. but the hitch remained original.

    2. A tow hitch can be fabricated and added. You would lift the box to highest point and check for clearance so the hitch doe not interfere with the box.

  2. Can I still pull gooseneck with the dump installed?

    1. The dump hoist kit is not rated to be towed with a gooseneck hitch or off the bumper. Trailers are to be towed by the frame mounted receiver hitch only.

  3. Gas tank filling

    How do you fuel your truck after this installation? My truck fuels through the rear fender and I don't think the tank filler hose would flex enough to allow the bed to raise. Also my truck is a long bed. Does that matter?

    1. There is a fuel bracket included that bolts right to the truck. Also included is a fuel extension tube and hose clamps.

  4. Can I keep my existing bumper?

    I've been looking at kits from a few different manufacturers. Some of the ones I've been looking at require you to remove your bumper from the frame and re-attach the bumper to the bed of the truck. After doing so, you cannot really tow heavy trailers any longer. How does your kit affect the rear bumper and will I be able to keep the same towing capacity I have now?

    1. You can keep you existing bumper however, once the kit is installed the bumper can not be used
      for towing purposes.

  5. do you have a hoist kit for a 2011 Dodge ram 1500 short bed? and does it included installation?

    1. Currently, Northern Tool does not carry a dump hoist kit to fit a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 short bed truck. Northern does not provide an install service on any of our products.

  6. Will it work if you have two fuel tanks on the truck

    1. If the vehicle this is being installed on has 2 factory fuel tanks, it will work as long as you have the proper kit designed specifically for your truck. If you have an aftermarket auxiliary or transfer tank in the bed of your truck, it cannot be used.

    1. We do not have this kit for any S-10 Chevy pickup, these kits are made for full size truck applications.
